On October 7th the USPS filed a rate case with the Postal Regulatory Commission (PRC), requesting a postage increase starting January 22, 2023. This increase will impact the USPS “Market Dominant” products, including First Class Mail and Marketing Mail. At the same time, the “Competitive” products – Priority Mail and Parcels will revert to non-holiday rates.

Overall, the rates will increase by an average of 4.2%, but like always, the details are important. Here are the increases for some common rates:

We are expecting the PRC will respond within 45 days, either by Nov. 18th, or the latest Nov. 22nd. Updates regarding these rates will be posted to this blog.
