Today, April 6, the Postal Regulatory Commission approved the USPS filing for a time-limited rate increase for their domestic competitive products: Priority Express, Priority, Ground Advantage and Parcel Post.
The “Temporary Price Increase” will start Sunday, April 26 and extend to January 17th, 2027.
The change would raise prices across the products as a response to rising costs:
8% for Priority Express, Priority, Ground Advantage and Parcel Post
Note that their competitors are also raising their rates:
UPS – Adjustments to fuel Surcharge
· Ground (March 2 – April 6) 21.5% to 27%
· Domestic Air (March 2 – April 6) 21.25% to 30.75%
FedEx – Adjustments to fuel Surcharge
· Ground (March 2 – 29) 22% to 25.5%
· Domestic Air (March 2 – 29) 21.75% to 27.5%
